New Natural Stone Patio and landscaping garden in Cheswick Green, Solihull

We have recently finished this wonderful natural stone paving patio and landscaping project in Cheswick Green, Solihull for Mr and Mrs Reed.
The property was built in 1968 with an extension added in 1985 and a conservatory protruding out from the house off of the patio doors. Mr and Mrs Reed wanted to open up the garden so that they could enjoy views of it from their dining room and be able to walk out of their newly installed bi-fold doors straight on to a new patio area. The new patio area is now perfect for alfresco dining.
Mr Reed with help of friends and family demolished and removed the old conservatory and dug up the original 1960s slabs before starting to get quotes for the new patio and landscaping.
We asked Mr Reed why he chose Ideal Building and Landscapes to undertake the work.
I had been getting quotes since March and had decided on a contractor who was recommended to me through a friend. I gave him the job but sadly he really messed me around. I had already dug up the old slabs and was left with mud, mud and more mud. Just three days before he was due to start he rang me up and said that he wouldn’t be coming and could not me give me a date when he could.
Thankfully Sam came to the rescue and was able to fit my job in urgently around other projects. The price was more than the original contractor who had let me down but I feel that it was a fair price. I think it is nice to support local business and my wife knew of Sam and Ideal Buildings and Landscapes through the fact that she used to live opposite Woodrush School. Ideal Buildings and Landscapes completed a sensory garden for the pupils at Windrush School and the community were extremely impressed with the finished result.
Sam as a business owner was great at keeping me updated as to what was happening. Communication is key to great customer service and customer satisfaction. I already had a vision in my mind of what I wanted when Sam came to quote but with his experience Sam gave good advice and we made some tweaks to the design. I chose natural stone paving for the patio and sleepers to create raised beds. The natural stone patio paving compliments the property.
Special mention though has to go to Dom and Phil the two installers. Not only did they work hard in what is physically a demanding job but the design came to life as they worked. Dom recommended raising the patio to match up with one of the sleeper beds. As the job progressed we then created raised areas and added another sleeper bed. This was invaluable advice and mean’t that the finished project is now even more impressive. Well done Dom and Phil.
