Project Overview
For this project, our team at Ideal Building & Landscapes installed a new resin driveway to replace an old tarmac driveway that had become tired and worn, with several cracks and patches across the surface.
Our clients wanted to update the driveway to better complement the appearance of their home, while also extending the existing space to make it more practical.
We carried out a complete resin driveway installation using Vuba’s Mount Yoshino resin blend, with contrasting charcoal block paving borders and new fencing along the side of the property.
Driveway Excavation & Preparation
Before installing the new driveway, we excavated the existing tarmac surface and extended the driveway to provide our clients with more usable space. Once the excavation was complete, we installed a new hardcore sub-base to provide a solid foundation for the driveway.
We then laid a 14mm open-grade tarmac base, which allows rainwater to drain through the surface rather than collecting on top.
Resin Driveway Installation
For the finishing layer, our clients chose Mount Yoshino, a resin blend supplied by Vuba. This was installed over the prepared tarmac base to create a smooth, attractive driveway that complements the property.
To frame the resin surface, we installed a double block paving border using charcoal tumbled pavers. We also created a matching feature at the front of the driveway, adding a little extra detail to the overall design.
The darker charcoal blocks provide a lovely contrast against the resin, helping define the driveway edges for a smart, tidy finish.
New Garden Fencing
Alongside the driveway installation, we also replaced the fencing along the side of the property using concrete fence posts and gravel boards, finished with KDM Omega lattice fence panels.
The concrete posts and gravel boards provide a sturdy, long-lasting framework, while the decorative lattice panels give the boundary a more attractive finish.
Finished Resin Driveway
Our clients now have a larger, more practical driveway with a fresh appearance that works well with the style of their home. The combination of Vuba Mount Yoshino resin, charcoal tumbled block paving and new decorative fencing has completely updated the front of the property.
With a permeable tarmac base beneath the resin finish, the driveway is designed to let rainwater drain through the surface, making it both practical and attractive.
